Fine if you want antique books but not if you want a packet of fags

Expensive twine, candles and cards took over from anything useful some years ago though yesterday I did notice a brightly lit boss man mobile gadget shop so perhaps the pendulum is swinging back.
McColls would’ve been your best bet for fags but that’s shut by 6pm

Yeah it’s not the ascent of man for sure
Modern tv does think we’re all thick as shit snd can’t retain information for longer than 5 minutes and need telling at the start and middle of the episode what the contents are … and constantly re-capping. Just fucking exhausting to watch.

Yeah me and the Missus are forever screaming at TV recaps “We know we’re fucking watching it” :joy:

Thats definitely an american thing that the UK imported. Can help pad out some tedious reality TV cuntfest transforming it from what should be 20 mins into an hour long programme where nothing actually happens apart from morons talking at each other.

I recently re-visited the UK(after maybe 12 years). I always held UK TV as the benchmark in quality. However to my dismay, the entire schedule seems to have locked into a pound shop version of the original 10am week day time slot dross. Literally audio visual garbage. It caught me quite off guard culturally.

There is still some good stuff
But it’s “hidden”
Like BBC iPlayer - Civilisations
And
BBC iPlayer - Russia 1985-1999: TraumaZone
