Light Relief

Record store is associated with Folk Arts up the street and two different experiences you couldn’t hope to experience. One ordered, one chaos.

I’m fully invested.

Sorry not sorry.

There’s an album coming. Wouldn’t surprise me if a rather plain looking record / clue with no info found its way into a few shops over the weekend.

I wasn’t all that on the last one, probably my least fave. Doubt I listened to the vinyl more than a three or four times and it left me a bit meh.

I thought the single was the best thing on it, so I’m kinda blasé this time around…

Yeah completely agree. Weakest album imo too.

Loved the spectacle of it all in the lead up though.

Wtf? :no_mouth:.

I think Twoism is getting an expansion at some point (2 x LP + Flexidiscs), but I think we’re in new album territory here. Looks like it could be even darker if the posters are anything to go by.

i’m gonna be pissed if it’s just a greatest hits or deluxe version of something we already had.

Yeah me too.

Having said that, if Boc Maxima got a re-release I’d still snap it up despite most of the tracks appearing on MHTRTC.

warp put a new video out on the social media that looks a little more direct. a fair amount of religious imagery, i recognized some of the rajneeshpuram footage.

i was showing my kid some of the artemis II photography yesterday, and it’s still so poignant - the clouds are a thin film across the earth, and yet the deepest depths of the ocean aren’t as deep as the clouds are high. for many reasons, whenever i see that sort of perspective, belief in any religion seems extra foolish to me. a drug like any other.

Reminds me of growing up in Glasgow in the '80’s with ballbags like that everywhere. I am still sore about two occasions where me and my pal had our whole stacks of Panini stickers knicked and then my new Reebok Pumps (a good thing in hindsight).

Reebok Pumps! My ex GF had some of those circa '92

Was that a typo?

I don’t get them either tbh. Intriguing for about 5 minutes.

No I was just being facetious!

I feel the same. Left me pretty cold even though I appreciate the virtuosity.
Someone more cynical than me might suggest that all the music youtubers (beato, hawkins, wings of pegasus etc etc) are hailing them as the future of music as it gives them something to talk about.
If it really were the future of music get ready for a resurgence of Frippertronics, King Crimson, Primus etc who largely been doing clever atonal, microtonal noodling for ever.
Maybe some people are a bit jaded with the whole 12 semitone structure we’ve had for centuries but I’d suggest those people aren’t looking or listening hard enough.
