Lets hear your mixes

@Joe - will do! Thanks.

I’ve been putting together various corners of my music during all this palava. Compiled themes and genres as they appear, then they live on the floor for a few weeks before making their way into a mix eventually…

Looking forward to getting into other peoples collections on here as well!

Nice work TP on the forum, thanks

Transatlantic Roots - 1972-1983

Recorded in a recent session with my friend and sonic colleague Johnny Craven, we pulled out and strung together a roots compilation from Count Ossie to Aswad. Pure Sunday vibes.

In 2019 I was the resident DJ in the crafty garden area at Shambala festival, which has these amazing pods and ponds created by a company called hortisculptures. They travel round lots of UK festivals so you may have seen their work. My favourite experience was playing on the very hot and sunny Sunday afternoon with people just flopped about dangling their feet in the water to cool down.

This is an ambient mix I did inspired by the space and is based around the water cycle. Thinking back to the weekend feels like a different world that I can’t wait to get back to, fingers crossed the festival will be back on this year, if it is I’ll be playing in a giant onion!

Since playing there I have been consciously collecting records that I think will work in the space, particularly with sounds of water and nature in, it’s amazing how much you find when you start looking.

Little House mix dedicated to Phlash.

Love the fact there’s so many mixes of a ambient/new age/balearic variety. Music for wide open spaces.

Homage to Detroit …Dark Comedy, Shake, Theo, Norm Talley, Red Planet, Omar S etc

Tried to steer away from the obvious classics, so some newer bits & lesser known gems

Hope you enjoy

I did the opening of Cafe Del Mar, Ibiza 2019, from the original booth not the big rave space bolted on in recent years :o)

Lovely bit of pure sunshine, thanks. A couple of ID’s I wouldn’t mind knowing: around the 45 minute mark and the last tune.

ā€œOn A Journeyā€ by Warm is such a good track.

Hola… around the 45min mark you have Javier Bergia - Donde Una Amapola Banca and Bubble Club - The Goddess… Last track is My Friend Dario - Calamari Fritti, then it moves into something else for a wee while, just trying to remember what that is, will take a proper look at it later, thanks for listening and glad you enjoyed it…

Series i’ve been running called Cosmos.

The Concept is basically a place for myself and Guest DJ’s to play the records they love that don’t get regular rotations, either because they’re not that clubby or don’t fit into their style.

Usually, but not always, means more laidback records as well as downtempo, deep, disco, balearic, jazz funk… list goes on but basically lots of styles but each one is usually themed to one corner of music.

I do an hour then they do an hour, bits of my chat & shout outs in between. This is the latest but if you go onto my profile there is a playlist with all 9 if you like the format.

every month for the past six I’ve been doing a mix for online station Radio Magnetic. The show is called Pure Mince, the idea is ā€œdance music in the key of poppersā€ ie lots of camp house/garage/disco, think big vocals and muscular grooves, stuff that’s traditionally derided for being a bit tasteless. (In Scotland we call things that are rubbish ā€œa bit minceā€ and I’m a big mincing queen most of the time, so the name made sense). This month’s episode is here.

Here’s the first radio show of 2021, I kept the chat to a minimum and let the music do the talking. It’s a super laidback affair with loads of chilled elecronica and cosmic folk/Americana.

Hope you enjoy it…

One of mine that’s doing pretty well at the mo :relaxed:
