We at Orbita HQ we started a collaboration for a new online radio based in Valencia. Our idea is to showcase DJs both based in Berlin and in Spain

I recorded a mix of some of the songs i played at the Halloween party I put on for the Gothy club night I help run. Mostly contemporary Post Punk, EBM, Industrial, Death Rock etc.

Just thought I’d share our latest mix here, and describe our m.o.
I DJ with my musical compadre, The Rutan, as The Lost Cosmonauts. We combine my record collection and ear for good music with his production, programming and DJ talents.
So I’m essentially the selector and he puts everything together. We decide on the theme and then map out a sequence of sections roughly by genre, and then I start firing music at him to choose from. He records sections in little flurries of creativity, which he normally nails first time. We spend ages looking for dialogue to accompany the transitions between sections. I critique everything he does and he’ll happily redo sections if asked. He re-edits some of the tracks, chops up the dialogue and sometimes includes his own music.
It’s the perfect solution for me - I’ve always enjoyed DJing, but I always swerve recording mixes. The pressure to achieve perfection pretty much curtails any enjoyment I might garner from the endeavour.
And the art is my first ever attempt at using ai prompts. Set out to do an alien landscape, but settled on the Austrian mountains. They still look fairly lost.
