Junglist Massive

90s Drum and Bass on Mastermind, starts at 7:00. I surprisingly got all but 2 correct! The contestant is fairly comedy too

priceless!

Classic

only the american house from those times was good.
the british progressive stuff was really, really bad! it is why Weatherall switched to hard techno, dub techno and detroit indebted house in 93

sublime, so deep. much slower dancing than samba or techno, just sway.

one of my favourites. DJ Trace - Miles High - YouTube

a couple of years back I had my first book Who Say Reload published (saw some nice comments about it on here, so thanks very much!). There’s now an album dropping so thought i’d give it a mention here in case anyone wants a nice selection of 90s jungle/D&B without breaking the bank and copping all the individual 12"s on Discogs.
I tried to put together a variety of styles/sub genres and artists/labels from across the decade. Licensing proved to be a bit of a nightmare but we got there in the end!

There are 16 tracks spread across two 2 x 12" double packs and a 13 track digital version.

Both are now available for pre-order at Juno, Red Eye and the usual places.

Volume 1 (drops 24th Feb)
A1. DJ Tamsin & The Monk - A Better Place (DJ Trace Remix)
A2. Nookie - Shining In Da Darkness
B1. Origin Unknown - Valley of The Shadows (Long Dark mix)
B2. Chimeira - Deeper Life
C1. DJ Nut Nut - Special Dedication
C2. Omni Trio - Renegade Snares (Foul Play Remix)
D1. Slipmatt - Breaking Free (DJ SS Rollers remix)
D2. Rude Bwoy Monty - Steppas Anthem

Volume 2 (drops 24th March)
A1. Omni Trio - Soul Promenade (Nookie remix)
A2. Prisoners Of Technology - Trick Of Technology (original version)
B1. Dopeskillz – 6 Million Ways
B2. Amazon II - King Of The Beats
C1. Wax Doctor - Heat
C2. Roni Size & Reprazent - Watching Windows (DJ Die Gnarly instrumental remix)
D1. Jonny L - Wish U Had Something
D2. Optical - Bounce

i haven’t dug too deep on the ol’ google machine, but it’s kind of surprising to me how little of the LTJ good lookin’/720/cookin’ label stuff is available for streaming.

i’m betting that there’s some real digital rights fights between the artists and bukem himself - anyone have the story?

yeah, I did hear something about the Good Looking catalogue being tied up in legal issues. I think Above Board mentioned it to me when we started putting together the tracklist for the compilation.

Am I imagining it, or was there a version of Logical Progression vol 1 that had Conrad mc-ing on it? Or was it only progression sessions that I’m thinking of?

A lot of those Good Looking mix CD’s had instrumental and MC versions.

Yeah, I know Conrad’s on the Western on Logical Progression but I can’t find a version with him on the whole thing. It’s also listed as just Bukem. I really think I must have dreamt this one.

Could it be this one?

“I can’t accept drum and bass we need jungle I’m afraid” rumbles on

I don’t think so, too new. I really think I am confused about it, but will be trying to get hold of a copy of that to listen.
