Italians do it better

So much good stuff on this thread.

Here’s another banger from 1992: Nu World/Chrystol Dance (Tiny Tom Mix).

A huge Sasha tune. You can get this on Discogs for 43p apparently which is both absolutely brilliant and totally heartbreaking in equal measure.

I know the ambient mix has been more popular recently but the extended / rave versions of this are the ones.

And Eddy Grant!

Tons of amazing stuff on Periodica Records, proving Italians are still doing it better.

Difficult to pick one out but I’m going for Mystic Jungle/Jurakan. Such a tune.

Slightly different Italian house style but have memories of this being hammered at Most Excellent

Along with with the usual suspect tracks by Ramirez

adore this one. There is a re-jigged version remixed by “the muthafunkaz” (?!?) which is almost identical but just doesn’t have the same magic.

Fidelfatti - Oceans and most of his other stuff.

Ditto MCJ, LUPO (3 killer 12s) and Secchi.

The Wood - Co Imperial

Zanzaman, SLD,

Used to love early Robertson/Stagg mixes where they would take some Italo beat and put it under something, e.g. Use of Flute on on their Candyland mix. MCJ on Caravan.

Also just relisttened to mix of Skidoo and it’s ace.

Love Last Rhythm, the ambient version in particular. This is by one of the producers, also magical Stonehenge ‎– My Dream (Stone version) (1990) - YouTube

Aufnahme -ein,zwei,drei,vier.

Played on the ‘Sweat it out’ film as Tony Wilson frantically proclaims “I’m on one!”

One of the earliest Italian House hits over here.

oh man… this is where i belong!!! loving all the mr marvin nods, also that Aural track is sick too @Moodynann great tip!

some of my own fav links below

Maldido Primitivo - Atmosphere Tropical (Cosmotribal Version)

Glam - My Mother Said (Cosmic Trance Mix)

Vanitas - Audace Ci Piace (Rare Mix)

B.D.J. ‎- Champs Elysees (Ambient) - play this one at 33rpm please… in fact maybe i’ll upload it soon

absolute cheese here, but a beautiful trance mix of Johnny and mary done by Francesco Marchetti over at Ghost Studio, Lake Garda

this one might be veering too much into cosmic territory but it deserves a listen for sure - Cosmic - Etnikka from the master Baldelli

and i’ve got files for these too if anyone wants, send a pm!

I remember having a ‘moment’ to this beauty at some party arranged by Nicky Holloway (?) at an old film studio. It was Christmas, there was a massive inflatable santa, fake snow raining down everywhere, and strobes and lasers aplenty.

Still puts a massive smile on my face.

It’s also cheap as chips, and endorsed by the Humph himself. Great dub too.
