My brother (older) had this and I was sceptical about it. Liked it, but never quite sure why he loved it so much. Then 18 months ago went to a day thing in London and Harvey played it…yeah, it’s a different level.

On Christmas Day 1989 I got given the House Sound Of Europe compilation as a present from my gran, she got tipped off I wanted it, she wasn’t hip to the current sounds .She was a music head though, James Last and Geoff Love where her thing.
Anyway, on this comp I was introduced to what sounded to me a like a very sophisticated end of Italian House, I’d only known Italian Piano Screamers up to that point, these three tracks on the comp blew my mind:
