Is It Balearic? Well is it?

It clogged up the bargain bins for about 3 years
I recall it being so bad, it made people in clubs on drugs, angry.

It’s basically akin to a whole load of Spaniards turning up on the Isle of Man and spending 40 years arguing about the true meaning of Manx cats

Sounded great live at We Are Love this year

Someone made me a version a few months ago which you can hear on a couple of my shows. He then very kindly sent me a dubplate :grinning: I reckon it’s better than PB’s and the KB one isn’t doing anything for me at all.

Comes in at around 1hr 29m on this

I agree. Will your version ever see the light of day u think?

I would agree, this i infinitely better; the KB version has an ā€˜uncanny valley’ feel to it and loses a lot of the emotion of the original.

No idea mate. He’s very kindly made a few ā€˜Just for Howler’ edits, which is very flattering. I will ask him if he fancies releasing them as they’re all ace.

It surely is, isn’t it?

Nosedrip’s epic Stroom outlet has some more gems on it.

Biting Tongues - Surrender (1989)

Biting Tongues were a Manchester post-punk collective that started in the late 70s, but by the time of this tune they were basically a Graham Massey project that just overlapped with 808 State’s early days

This track is a b-side from the ā€˜Love Out’ single. There’s also a ā€˜Mellow Mix’ of it too which is really nice but it’s not been uploaded to YT (maybe i’ll do that later). Gives me strong Luke Una machine soul vibes if you like that sort of thing. It’s dead cheap on the 'Cogs too.

Like that, heard the name before but never checked out their stuff properly.

This was a bit of a secret weapon until Stroom reissued it. The 1994 OG still goes for strong ££, and is tucked away on the flip of a single called ā€œI’m a Thumbsuckerā€, which in case you havent guessed hy the title, isn’t Balearic in the slightest!

This song from a Jamie Tiller & Tornado Wallace set has been haunting me lately. Should fit well in.

Asking for a friend. On a Summer’s evening in New Zealand this makes (some) sense but happy to corrected…

(Ooops, realise I’d posted a different mix to the one I’d heard earlier…)

What set?

All killers, no fillers.

God I love Peter Allen videos. They always prompt a huge smile. He looks like he’s having so much fun. Now if only I could figure out what this song is about…

Is Keir Starmer Balearic?

From an article about him hosting a load of Labour MPs at Checquers:

Looking at this playlist, the answer is a definite NO.

Game’s gone.
