On a bike forum i’d imagine it’s more a case of thread derailleurs.
Very nice
And would they be called threads or chains?
Was reading the tributes to Maggie Smith yesterday and her best line from the Agatha Christie ‘evil under the sun’ always makes me chuckle
“Arlena and I were in the chorus of a show together, not that I could ever compete. Even in those days, she could always throw her legs up in the air higher than any of us… and wider.”
Clive Everton RIP
Been reading bits about him today, didn’t realise what a renaissance man he was, a man of principle as well.
R.I.P.
Yes that picture is something special…
Around 1998 or so he was in Juneau Alaska shooting John Sayle’s Limbo. He and the rest of the cast would hang out at a bar run by some friends of mine. When the filming ended, KK pitched in and bought a gorgeous early 20th century style saloon-style bar for them and had it installed in the space across from the bar. Top guy.
RIP Jerry Miller, leader of The Untouchables. A formidable band in their day fronted by a very charismatic leader, who was also a well sharp dresser and a great singer.
Their Free Yourself album was a firm favourite for many of my friends at a time where the majority of music we listened to in this realm came exclusively from the UK.
These SoCal cats came through with tunes destined to be played loudly and on a sweaty dancefloor.
A great loss. And as you say an amazing front man for one of the most exciting bands.
We saw them at The Astoria where he jumped off stage with a wireless mic, skanked his way to the back, into the foyer and up onto the balcony, still singing, then jumped off that back into the crowd! Never seen anything like it.
That LP was a favourite amongst my mates too.
Johan Neeskens, midfielder in the Total Football Dutch national team that reached 2 WC Finals and the great Ajax team of the 70s that ruled European football for awhile.
