Was 82 for me. The Brazil team arguably the greatest ever to not win the WC. Zico, Eder, Socrates, Falcao, Oscar, Junior. If Balearic could be a football team, that was it

On the March with Bobby’s Army… Apparently. Really good scene in it just before the SF with Pink Floyd soundtracking the England fans campsite. Also some of the fans they interviewed, some great some dead scary. Will check the book, cheers.

Same - I was 9 years old, it’s the first World Cup I really engaged with. I remember the 1978 World Cup semi finals and final a bit, but 1982 was the one I had a wall chart for, saw all the games I possibly could, and spent weeks afterwards pretending to be Zico in the playground. Plus I have incredibly vivid memories of watching the France vs Germany semi final, an incredible game. 82 definitely the most Balearic with that Brazil squad and KU regular Paolo Rossi!

Always wanted a pair. Some kids used to take studs out of their regular boots for playground use.

Yes! I really coveted Adidas Mundial Team but had to settle for Stabils. I think Patrick did a luxe version that were out of reach for the 12 year old me too, recall they had gold stripes
