was never into the breaks scene although a flatmate was, he used to go to mass in brixton i think. I did hear one or two bits I liked via her show, that you would never hear anywhere else. Lots of bootlegs of house/nu-electro/rnb tracks that somehow made their way to berwick street. I quite liked some of the adam freeland tracks she played and one or two other darker bits that made sense at 3am. to my knowledge she might have been the only person on radio really championing it, which is so gloriously eccentric bbc

I remember thinking she was ancient when I listened to her show in the late 80s. She was younger then than I am now
