Ivan Conti
Saw him and Azymuth a few times in the 80’s such an amazing band live.
RIP
He was an unbelievably sweet guy who was very very cool and encouraging of the local DJ and musician scene. Big big loss.
Karl Berger, vibraphonist, composer, educator and friend of Ornette Coleman passed away today aged 88. I knew him as a member of Conjoint, who put out some fantastic albums in the 90s. David Moufang aka Move D is also in the band.
Shit, another great, his contribution to the free jazz scene cannot be understated. He dug playing with younger kids too.

Gordon Lightfoot RIP
My fave
Really like Linda too (big Rob J tune!)
Great selections, thanks - this was the music of my childhood as my father loved Lightfoot.

Jack Wilkins was born on June 4, 1944, lived all his life, and died last Friday (May 5) in New York City. A great all-around guitarist, he worked with everybody from from Charles Mingus to Stan Getz to the Brecker Brothers.
His best known track, a cover of Freddie Hubbard’s Red Clay, was sampled by ATCQ, Chance The Rapper, Angie stone and more. The whole album Windows is dope.
Rita Lee
Impossible to overstate her importance to Brazilian music, particularly Rock and Roll. She was a giant.
John Giblin, bassist extraordinaire :
played on this gem too:
