Heard on the radio that when he was born his dad called him meat as he came out all red. I think it developed from there. Was on radio 4. Must be true.

Renowned Chef, Raconteur, DJ and all-round great guy.
Used to be part of the Nosh Brothers duo and had great restaurant out west. Way ahead of the curve and taught me loads about cooking and life. Last few years we had been growing buddies, sharing seeds and tips. Going to miss him and his stories.

Just dropped my daughter off at swimming. The mural is on the wall of our local leisure centre in Acton. Over 1000 people were outside last night holding a vigil in his memory.
