Only just seen that UK reggae / lovers rock heavyweight Vivian Jones passed away on 27th October. A true legend of the scene.

Loads of amazing tracks I could post with this but I’ve always loved the wistful, deep and dreamy Trying. RIP.

Very sad…
Every time I watch that I can’t believe how young everyone is, one of our best mates is at 4.40 she looks about 10!
Live that life kids!

I’ve seen that vid many, many times but only spotted Sue this morning. :+1:

ps, felix dickinson doesn’t look old enough to be clubbing :joy: maybe that’s why he didn’t get in.

I meant to post that and forgot.

I highly recommend listening to anything he made. One of our greatest, and very prolific.

No fucking way. He was about to go on a speaking tour. I shared this with someone this morning! FFS :pensive:

Oh man. That’s so sad. He always seemed like a genuinely great guy and the basslines ‘I Am The Resurrection’ and many others speak for themselves.

When I was young I clipped every article about them in the NME and kept a folder. Around the first album they just had that thing you can’t put your finger on. Bands have it for a bit. New Order had it. First album and associated b sides are so good. RIP

Very sad. Seemed like a great character. Remember going to a cpl of the northern soul Sundays he did in Manchester when we went over for gigs, think it was in bar called cord in the Northern quarter? Anyway, he was always welcoming, with a big warm smile. RIP

In the basement? That is an ace venue, went to a El Diablo’s lock in there that was very very special.

Damn…gutted.
He was always the most personable and affable of the Roses, local hero as well, North Manchester lad.
Did great work with Primal Scream for a while as well. R.I.P.

Such a character. Such a part of my youth, especially late eighties early nineties

Really shocked and saddened by this, especially in light of him having 13 year old twin boys and relatively recently having lost his wife

RIP

Only listened to this last week such a funny warm hearted character
