Oh, that sucks. Loved his radio shows with Darren. Always laughing.
Just saw this. I love 808 state. So much great music.
808 state was a HUGE deal for my way back when (and i suppose, still is for me now). brilliant production, wild sounds, and no shortage of fun. i can’t think of any 808 state songs that don’t induce a smile. RIP andy barker - thanks for the smiles.
was just a bit too young to experience 808 State in the rave but god I loved the tunes though on cassettes and TOTP and Deep Heat comps - one minute furious hiphop breakbeat rave, the next loonbird balearic bliss. I don’t know if time has been that kind to the likes of Cubik and In Yer Face but for a 15 year old in 1990, it all felt so clandestine and otherworldly.

I know what you mean, and yet Pacific 303 felt like the classiest piece of dance music in the world in 1989 (still love it now)

Dean Stockwell RIP
"“I haven’t changed in the least,” he said. “My way of working is still the same as it was in the beginning: totally intuitive and instinctive.
“But as you live your life,” he added, “you compile so many millions of experiences and bits of information that you become a richer vessel as a person. You draw on more experience.”
He was excellent, even when he was eight, always authentic on the screen.
Astro though.

Virgil Abloh. Would have been interesting to see how much more he would have accomplished if he had lived longer.
Only 41. Tragically young.
Very sad…
