I went to see Hug tonight in LA. They’re a new band from Devendra Banhart with guitarist Gyan Riley and producer Noah Georgeson. It’s like three lovely guitars with minimal percussion that sometimes pulls from Indian references and then almost feels flamenco in places. They played under a willow tree in front of a Frank Lloyd Wright house on top of a hill. It was pretty perfect. Highly recommended and well worth a listen. The album comes on Luaka Bop next month I think.
