Ugh. I have that version & it’s terrible. What a disappointment.
i’m always confused by people like this - it doesn’t make any sense to me to be a dick all for an extra five bucks or whatever. working a bunch of scammy tactics, and for what? not that much more money?
I’m a week into a 3 week stay in Barcelona, trying to pace myself with the digging but here’s a few bits I’ve picked up so far…
Killer cosmic Venezuelan disco, very chuffed with this

A couple of Vampi Soul reissues, both €11 each and sealed, loads more of their reissues for the same price in Revolver Records so if I don’t pick much more up elsewhere I’ll head back before my flight home and fill my boots:

Cheap Italo maxis, the flip of Another Life is killer…

Plenty more to come I’m sure, and if anyone knows any good digging spots away from the usual stores please let me know!
North and South, shops and bootsales.
50p to £2 a pop. £3 on Mick Karn but it seems a bit noisy, which isn’t like this sellers normal stock, great record though.
Lorraine is a lovely cheesey A side and a possibly not on youtube deep house dub thing B side which is nice, check the cover! Nostromo for the B side, was to be a gift but it has a edge warp.

About a year to turn up what you would think would be an easy find. Found at the car boot in a rare ‘virgin’ vinyl case, not the usual dreggs with everything taken out for discogs. Cost was about 50p.
I’ve made this record a forfeit find with a fellow much younger collector of records, whoever finds a copy on 7" or 12" has to buy dinner from the golden arches, Macdonalds for McDonald, it’s been a tough hunt.
Gang Of Four in non remix form on the B side is a fantastic Post Punk peak time thing if you could find a dance floor receptive to it, I think you could…edited in the Murder Rap Trap from Culture club and an overplayed Urban 12 which I’m told is popular on Radio 6, the “Where Love Lives” of rare groove maybe…

I got this thrown in for free cause it wasn’t priced up (though all the other 7" were priced at 50p)

It seems a fairly rare single on discogs, well done!
Nice use of Petra & Co on that Gang Of Four remix. New to me, and definitely playable
I didn’t like the remix version but I did see a copy of Petra & Co in the same boxes. Having played it after cleaning I would like to know if the original cut is less compressed?
Not been doing much digging over the last couple of weeks, but had a mini Bob Marley haul and The Congos, all two quid each.

It sounds so great on 12”, really great loud pressing
We used to have a curry club (to share some of the luck) and the ‘curry’ item we found at the tip or bootsale was sometimes a Moog, vintage guitar amp or holy grail musical instrument. You’d be buying a lot of curry if it was vinyl curry club…I’ll edit in I’m going to brave Trevor Billmuss on youtube, advanced level stuff
It is a bit close to the ESG records I can’t find or afford at retail
Having chopped up 2 copies at parties for a good decade the numerous copies I have are all completely trashed and well beyond being used for reference
Never seen an original ESG record at a boot, ever.
The Billmuss record is very strange (but I like it!)
Might be the best place to ask.
Anyone ever “fixed” a warped record?
My friend keeps talking about buying the heat press tool thing. Realistically I think you need to investigate where the big record dealers are in your area and see if you could pay to get it sorted. My wants list is set on quality cleaner as I only have one or two warped records here I care about.
Roughly where are you?
I just bought a copy of the You’re no good/UFO/Moody 45 on Factory for £20.
No sleeve though.
I’m not sure if that’s a good deal or not, but it’s a record I’ve always wanted and never, ever see.
