Hauls Found Today

I thought it was good through the headphones today so I bought it.

I was a disco specialist in terms of digging but I’m not sure if this has gone past me before.

It’s a demo promo copy in common with a lot of the stuff above. Probably been played once and rejected, god only knows how he kept on top of all this product coming in. I don’t want to think too hard what might have been in here, like the other Codek single on Island and Escape from New York etc. This DJ was most definitely on all the major lists.

You definitely have some lucrative bargain bins round your way…

Colourbox :ok_hand:

From record shops to bin bags out of skips! The records are a bonus to the hardware searches, I’m actually looking for studio, Hi Fi, stuff for event production etc.

The Colourbox and the Hawkshaw thing was priced, although very fairly. I’m not listing anything above a pound from now on in the ‘hauls’ section.

Where is this record Mecca?

Also, here’s my top tip. If you’re ever looking for hifi equipment etc and you’re in the states then set your coordinates to Spokane, WA. Things must fall off a truck near there.

I’m around Cambridge, Bedfordshire, Buckingham and Hertfordshire, in the UK…
I google search for record vendors in the area as well as flea market digging.

Normal £1 or less service is resumed. Harvesting for my virtual record shop that never opens plus a few duds. I have learnt a bit of 91-92 house today.

I’m kind of hardened to this rummaging now so anything less than Axe Corner-Tortuga for 50p leaves me lukewarm.

If anybody is interested I can post a full list or highlights?

Well that’s strange…

12 for £1, I buy blind, obviously. Yes, twelve singles for one pound Stirling.

Just a quick edit…I think some of those Synth Pop Numan tunes are ace, well pleased!

More today…

Some are worthless, some are worth plenty. Some are terrible, roll the dice. Some are stock, some are personal.
Check out the machine B side, on my subconscious for some time.

The past hauls since thread start. Plus this Friday, Saturday and Sunday digging. Very productive gathering of stuff before the tip, record shop priced and bargain bins. £1 or less mostly or the ridiculous 12 for £1

Shows us your interesting finds on the street, I guess this game is rare now?

I wil show the edit of ‘interesting’ which I’m not sure is rare, fashionable or valuable.

Total weekend Haul amount is near 100 so I have edited down a flavour

8.33pence

I guess pricing your stock is too hard. I returned to visit and was afraid I would be found out.

A long weekend of several search missions. These are from record shops.

The inspirals ep is a bit meh. The Derrick Carter isn’t my taste either and worthless and the K.I.D. is disappointing despite the label art and the ‘baby records’ logo. Maybe I will get into it, second time I have found one of these.

The rest I’m pleased with, I have been after several of these.

The frantique is the cheapest Harvey tune right…
All were £1, £2 or £3 so breaking my rule.
Did find some Holy Grail hi fi hardware, but this is off topic.

What are you doing with all your hauls? Are you collecting for yourself or selling on? If selling, feel free to share your discogs sale list.

I used to spend more time looking for records, but now that I have two kids I’m mainly doing their things.

Yeah that K.I.D is pretty bobbins

I had an interesting haul from a local clearance guy last week. 90s oldskool, jungle and the like. Plus a Replacements test pressing which was a bit random. All very dusty though.
I keep getting FOMO from never doing the car boots…

If you want a trip to Brighton my local charity shop has a big collection of 12"s, lots of 80s-90s, soul/funk/house, clearly one person’s collection. I have bought everything I wanted/recognised but someone with bigger shelves / broader palette would have a field day I reckon.

Bit far but a few members down that way I think. Are they a pound a go?

What kind of stuff excites your taste don_milano?

I’m a bit of a hoarder of broad taste, nearly everything on these lists is not duplicated in collection.

So when something a bit valuable comes along that I don’t have, I tend to keep it. UK speed garage or whatever would be sold on, same with Jungle/drum and bass, although it would be difficult to part with some of the finds that might come up such as Horizons or that kind of thing.

Also not doing myself any favours if I wanted to sell on a £20 tune if I had got it from a £1 bin!

Having said that, I did list a few on Discogs but I don’t think the market place is very strong unless I listed a ton of stuff dirt cheap (half of median say). Certainly not worth me going to the post office with a £5 tune.

The only thing from a record shop is pictured at the bottom, less than pleased (shop owner was a nob and then some). Everything else £1 or 50p

Was not Was did some poor records didn’t they?

Oh, The Model is worn out on the b, as is my 12 inch of this also…

Ah, you got the Frankie mix of Chaka Khan, maybe the best remix OF ALL TIME

Some reach the heady heights of £2, it’s London by the sea down here

‘Of all time’ sounds like a new thread to start?
