As an aside. Many years I ago I used to help recruit contractors for a European bank based in London. They drug tested everyone on joining. But oddly it was to do with having broken a law, not the risk of being stoned at work. So if you could prove you’d been to Amsterdam v recently they let you off a failed test. Cue many last minute trips booked before smokers started their contract!

Looking at getting my first vape and based on what friends have and what’s been recommended here I’ll probably be going with a Pax. The main reason I’m looking at getting one is… the weather! It’ll be fucking freezing up here (in Helsinki) for the next few months and I’ve had enough of the balcony. Surely doing the neighbours a favour too.
Think the Pax Mini would suffice my needs as I only smoke flower. But those who have experiences with Pax vapes, any big differences between the different models?

My Mrs has a pax and was getting carts from America few years ago, it was a simple and discreet unit but the smell from the cartridge was very strong. It’s the tobacco she missed most so didn’t last long on the vape…

I agree with Nice2CU2CUnice that if discreetness is what you are after, a vape will still emit a marijuana smell. Granted it is a lot less than smoking a bowl. It might take a while to get the bowl pack amount and heat down to a science, but it is (in my opinion) a different high from burning weed.
I actually think you end up having to use more weed when you use a vaporizer, but your mileage may vary. I live next to a legal state so my go to’s are edibles and cartridges, but I know cartridges have their negatives. I just like them because they get you ripped and are pretty affordable. But if ripped is what you are looking for, go the live resin/wax route. Creates a huge tolerance but gets you high like no other.

My pax 3 packed in after a couple of years. Need to send it off to the states to get it fixed
Splashed out on a tinymight 2 though a few months ago and the difference between it and the Pax is night and day. Pricey but quality.
Knocked it on the head for a bit though. Staying asleep for more than a couple of hours at a time is proving to be a bit of a twat at the minute.

Re vapes, it was all new to me until recently. I soon found out the vapes for flower aren’t for me, cleaning and maintenance are just too much hassle. Plus, as already mentioned, you still get the smell.
Not into the principle of single use products but the disposable pens are hard to beat. 3 or 4 hits after work and I’m in fuckitol territory.
The good thing with the cartridges is you can pretty much tailor the high you want to achieve, although the Stiiizy pods I used to get from the US pre-lockdown would ‘block’ on a fairly regular basis.
Whereas, I’ve got some really primo Moroccan hash atm (not quite 00, but close), and have had to stop smoking it (neat, in a Silver Palmleaf), because the munchies it gives are ridiculous. I’ve put on half a stone in a couple of months!!

Haha fucking hell. Sounds like some proper riff that. Miss smoking that Moroccan ‘fudge’ which was the choice when I lived in Amsterdam.
My ‘weather argument’ was mainly to illustrate how a vape would solve standing outside, relighting a joint in -10 degrees or worse.
And as mentioned above might turn out they aren’t for me either with all the hassle involved. I’ve been pretty much exclusivley smoking joints since high school really. Having tried a bunch of vapes I’ve never been totally sold on them, but given the reason above and that I’ve had a bit of a break from smoking altogether now might be an apt time to try something new.
