Good To Go : All Things Go-Go

I’ve found DC peeps are always pleasantly surprised when asked about gogo, like they expect no one else to know about it.

one thing that stood out to me was all 3 DC people I’ve met and asked about it, call it “A Go-Go / the Go-Go” like going to a disco. I don’t know if this is a niche colloquium, they were all late 30s early 40s

It was part of the series they did with the hip hop one too and I think there was one other one but can’t remember what that was on. I think Alan Yentob did them but can’t be sure of that…

Coincidentally the go-go doc was first aired exactly 40 years ago today!

I did find some clips still on youtube but might have the whole thing downloaded somewhere, I will share if I can find it.

Thanks, those are the clips I found but there’s bits missing.
Here’s the whole thing in slightly better quality for anyone interested:

This is on a NY label but the writing / arranging / production team were all members of E.U.

Im sure many of us were here.
My recollection is that it was the hottest and sweatiest gig ever.
Convinced that go-go was going to take over the world until those pesky kids from chicago made us take think again…

I wasn’t but I have been, many times
At that time in your youth when you’ve got about 10 records and you listen to them all the time
