It had a pool table in a side room & the car park was waste ground
In another thread I think but definitely worth the repost in any way.
I always admired how Bjork always gave her stuff to so many people and let them do whatever they want with it, even when she didn’t like it much. There are so many remixes of her stuff it could almost be its own thread but this one was the one I was in the mood for. Attributed to Mike D.
He was known for not using headphones… Heard him few times in NYC and it was like someone falling down some stairs…

Digging Oakie’s JT mix
Yes was a very special release for me too. The sound of many afters. I lost my copy long ago in the mists of time. Just checked on discogs and some twat is trying to get a grand for it! Sasha & John Digweed - Renaissance: The Mix Collection: 3xCD, Mixed, May For Sale | Discogs
That was a very odd venue for a super club! It was the place to be though at that point, used to drive down from Leeds. Those were the days!
Not sure if anyone has posted this one yet - only just heard it a few weeks ago but it’s been stuck in my head ever since:
Always been meaning to track down a stereo copy of that and Depeche Mode – Happiest Girl (The Pulsating Orbital Vocal Mix). Got them on that Auntie Aubrey Excursions comp that was mixed in mono for some reason. Still great.
I only just discovered that remix on Balearic Breakfast the other week. It is great!
Brought this one to mind. I bought the 12" for the Coldcut remix, but the discovered the Dave Stewart remix on the other side.
That’s where I’d heard it too wasn’t keen on the first 20 seconds or so but had me hooked as soon as the drums kick in - liking this one too - very pleasing!
An old karaoke favourite of mine.
That’s great
But you can get fucked if you think I’m doing that version
Picked that up in a shop in the elephant and castle shopping centre for £2 when I first moved to London whilst on a lunch break. It got rinsed to death and is pretty knackered now. Always wish I had picked up another copy as they had loads in there at the time.
Still a favourite… think there was Vol 2 but it was hard to live up to the first one… Gold cover if I remember right…
Probably sounds better now
