Good remixes of major pop acts

I mean what a band… Absolutely brilliant music solidly throughout their career. Madly underrated for me…

I think they probably suffered (unfairly) because of the ‘goth’ tag. I hold my hands up as not paying them nearly enough attention in the 80’s because of it (my sister was into them and she was a goth, which immediatley put me off them). It was only in the latter half of the 90’s when i realised just how brilliant they actually are.

Agreed. They’re so good. The nuts thing about the cure as my mate pointed out, is whatever music they make sounds like them even when its miles away from something they made before.

Their Glastonbury set the other year was amazing.

I wasnt goth but my mate dressed as Robert Smith age 16 which you can imagine down Grantham hi street
I always liked their dance factor , at any shit pop / indie 6th form age disco Why Cant I be you & Lovecats so stood out despite being not brand new

But the remixes??? :upside_down_face:

Peak Sure is Pure , if Morales lived in Stoke instead of Brooklyn
My record of 92 (?)

I underappreciated the cure too. Love the Spanish guitar on ‘The Blood’

I like Smith’s guitar playing - reminds me of Pete Townshend but less “macho” which is a good thing.

They are great.

Not sure if Spoon count as a major pop act or if the entire remix of the album is great, but Adrian Sherwood gave their Lucifer On The Sofa a going over to make it Lucifer On The Moon. And, well, I’m a Sherwood slut.

And if you just want to read more

Some equivocation there.

So, sue me.

Lovely, and new to me, so thank you!

I have to admit the Mixed Up comp. this is from was in my “might flog it” stack as I hadn’t listened to it for a couple of years and had forgotten just how good it was.
Transported me right back to being nineteen again.

Did anyone mention the greatest of them all yet? A work of genius. Reminds me of the Chunnel Club in Vauxhall! A massive anthem there. Wonder how it got commissioned?!

Has anyone got that amazing richard sen remix of john grant ‘disappointing’ from a few years back? Unsure if it ever officially saw the light of day?

Yes, I’ve got that - I’ll DM you a link later.
