In Ghent with family. Staying near Music Mania 2 record shop but wondering if anyone knows a place for more used dance music, disco, new beat. Found an antique / unusual shop with 1 box of great disco records on Sluizekenkaai but the selection was limited and I already own the great ones there so didn’t buy anything.
hey, when i was in gent i went to Wally’s Groove World, it was okay. can’t remember seeing too much new-beat tbh. oh sorry, that’s in antwerp not gent!
music mania 1 had a few boxes of new beat type stuff, but that was years ago, not sure if they still do.
i always check a few place in brussels. – main recommendation for brussles at the moment is Crevette Records amazing broad selection there.

The only place in Belgium that lives & breaths New Beat is Doctor Vinyl in Brussels. The owner, Geert, was strongly involved in the creation of The Sound of Belgium, a movie by Jozef Deville.

Not music related but if you’re in Ghent, definitely swing by t’dreupelkot - tiny little genever bar with a ridiculous number of flavours (and the owner’s a character, too).
