Shameless plug as it’s me + my mate producing, but I can’t think of a better category for it.

I had a dream last week where someone had a tune called 'floaty floaty bang bang’

Needs to be made. To the same refrain as The Goodies?

“Goodie Goodie Yum Yummmm”

Floaty

Was obsessed with Terry Lee Brown Jr mid 90’s but never heard this at the time, Terry’s Café was a big studio fave. Never knew he was a German bloke called Norman Feller either.

Rediscovered that recently. Had forgotten how good it is

In summer 2002 I was working in Alaska on break from school. Somehow stumbled on to this at a local shop, maybe it was the title? Lived in it all summer. The coda to “I’m Falling” (starting around 4:18) is a certified floaty banger as well. Brilliant album.

Love reading little things like this on here. Of a similar time, bought this compilation in Underground Solution in Edinburgh on a day trip, left it on the train on the way home and just got it back. The whole compilation really soundtracked a time for me and still very evocative, when most of my peers were definitely NOT into house. Not sure if they’re quite banging enough but they’re very, very floaty. I particularly liked the Forme tracks.

Feel like I could put half my record collection on this thread.

This thread is a good reminder that it can be a fine line between a floaty banger and 90s progressive house record. When is the 90s prog house revival happening by the way??

Ha! I was thinking the same thing the other day listening to this!

It seems to be well under way! Quite a bit of the Love on the Rocks stuff has a floaty prog vibe but it’s sexier and winking in a fun way. The Safe Trip “Planet Love” comps bring the prog vibe as well…

I mean this wouldn’t be out of place in a 90s prog mix right?
