Got to be Robert Owens, Tears seminal track still for me, Kenny Bobien close second. ‘Father’ is a killer still. When he was on it can’t beat Dennis Emanuel Brown, remember a doc watched in 90’s with him singing ‘Have you ever…’ was emotional.

Discovered this a few years ago… I try to emulate when on my own, its not a nice sound. Pat nails it.
The Chairman of the Board too… Sort of grew up with my parent’s playing him and watching too many Mob films etc.

Teddy was the lead singer in Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes during the 70s until his first solo album in 77. He sings the lead on Wake Up Everybody.
