I was out all the time during Red Zone’s prime years, but I never was a regular, mainly because it was too far out of my neighborhood - at the time, living in the East Village, it was Save the Robots, the Pyramid, a few roving candy-bar-monikered parties, and of course the World, where Morales also played along with some guy named Frankie Knuckles, among others. (If we travelled out of the hood, it was Tunnel, Limelight, and Susanne Bartch’s parties at the Copacabana. BUT - the few times I went, I love it - a big box of a room with a boomy sound system, with a vibe and music that was pretty much a precursor to the Sound Factory. Anyway! This is technically not a Red Zone mix - I think it might predate David’s stint at the club - but I like it so there you go.
