Thanks. I’ll give those a whirl. Had one of yours on this week - really nice low, moody techno mix.

Twilo with Sasha & Digweeds nights there have a lot to do with Danny and Deep Dish putting on the trance trousers :pensive:

I know I post this here once every thirty days or so but it really is one of my favorite sets of all time.

Love how someone has put this as Kerry Chandler on Mixcloud. Kerri’s sister who is much better I think.

MAW used this to great effect on their '97 E Mix

It was this one Mixcloud

Yes for such a fella engrained in the scene he was/is very easily influenced, which can be a positive of course but to me smacked of bandwagon jumping rather than an actual passion for something. There are a lot out there who do very well from it unfortunately.
Anyhow he once played in Israel and the dude on before him was playing lots of minimal house and techno by the Romanians and Tenaglia was literally asking him the names of every record he played and busily writing them down. I half expected him to be playing Rhadoo records at Sunrise after that. Thankfully it never happened.

Ah yes the solar deep ones are my particularly moody efforts. Thanks for checking it out.

If you watch his episode of Lenny Fontana’s True House Stories I think you’ll modify your opinion. He’s been at this since the early 70s and (for better and for ill) I believe he views a dj’s job as staying current and is also genuinely passionate about searching for new sounds, which is super positive on the intention tip but can go awry (pls refer to the board’s earlier discussion of Francois K and the dubsteps :grimacing:).

Fair enough but he is not very current now and I have heard him DJ on a few occasions after his Tribal heyday and have been amazed/confused at just how bad he was, a confusing mish mash that made no sense. Just had a quick listen to his recent ish mixes on YouTube and I had to turn them off immediately as the music is that bad. I am struggling to change my opinion of bandwagon jumping unfortunately as he literally went overnight from being one of the best DJ’s I have heard to being erm…not.

Even when he played at #6 Hubert street he was playing lots of stuff that didn’t mesh with my (admittedly at the time very limited very NYC-centric) idea of good house, I mean shit I STILL don’t really mess with tech house stuff it leaves me cold. However I have also heard him totally crush the building as he does in that mix I posted above. He has ultra deep musical knowledge and great timing and set-building ability.

Yes not doubting that one bit, some of my best ever nights out have been listening to him. I would buy his records/remixes without even having to listen to him hence my huge disappointment when he changed so much that he didn’t seem to know what good music sounded like anymore. See also Kerri Chandler and those odd tech house sets he does at DC10 in Ibiza or other venues that suit the type of music. Relevant or just cash cowing? I struggle to believe some DJ’s can honestly hand on heart say they enjoy what they play considering where they came from in the scene.

I totally one hundred percent have chosen to pretend this isn’t a thing.

Haha I have heard one in person but maybe it was a dream

Your persistence has paid off, currently chugging away in the kitchen making dinner.

I was quite obsessed with this when I got it on tape in semi-rural Oxfordshire.

I’d never even heard of Full Circle until then.
