Fact For The Day

Indeed. Pumpkin Pie with a Gram cracker base and Cool Whip. Delicious!

Not exactly Fact For The Day, more like Question Of The Day:
does the name “Ian O’Brien” contain syllables shuffled from the name “Brian Eno”? Is that where he got the name or is that his real name?

I always thought it was his real name. It’s a name that would work without raising too many suspicions from me.

Must be, sometimes I catch myself looking into things too far fetched

Salvador Dali designed the Chupa Chyps lollie wrappers. The guy that made them was his pal.

Feck me - we’ve had that one twice already! Clearly we are a gaggle of lollie lovers! :joy:

I just noticed where E-man lifted some of the vocals from on this ubiquitous 2001 Houser (and Jon Cutler, the the title too). Seemingly uncredited aswell

At the time It’s Yours was considered a classic rap track so well known enough to be considered a reference. I don’t think it was uncredited to hide anything

Gil Scott Heron was the voice at the end of the Tango ads “You know when you’ve been Tango’d”

Holy crap! My wife was working at that Ad agency at the time, on that account - - I never knew that.

Did end up fully Tangoed at several of their agency parties back in the 90’s though

Brilliant. I still love introducing people to it who never got the benefit of that ad whenever it comes up in conversation. Was bloody genius.

I assumed it was Isaac Hayes

I assumed it was a jobbing actor or voice over artist. I’d love to understand the thought process that led to Gil Scott Heron getting asked

Guess he figured it would be televised.

Contractually he only agreed to his voice being used on cans of Tango and not The Bottle. :grimacing:

I know the process that lead to him agreeing to it. Crack.

I was lucky enough to see a wasted but still brilliant Gil Scott Heron back in the day - a delayed concert that we thought might never take place. I still have the poster of the gig that never was - Gil and Ben Harper, from when Harper first came on the scene. Gil was apprehended in New Zealand and missed the show due to being caught with crack in his shoe at the airport.
