Serious question for those of you with big dogs. When do they calm the fuck down? Ours is 4 months and doing my head in.
2-3years… lol 4 months is still puppy stage but you will have to show who is boss so loads of one on one interaction, get the dog walking on lead with everyone who’s living with him, staying calm is the main thing. Hard work and some dogs can be extra work…Calm home, happy dog
I have 3 kids; 10, 8 and 5. Calm is not exactly what we are working with here.
Bloody heck … what type of dog?
Look at them tho, butter etc
The size of this dog will be the life saver here with you having 3 young kids. The dog will grow rapidly and not having to worry about the kids lifting him up and fighting over him will give you some relief… A friend got a dachshund few years ago with kids of the same age it was a nightmare for him being pulled around and falling off beds etc. dog was in the vets regularly in the first few months that they were reported to animal cruelty… All good now though.
Issue we’ve got with Sunny is that when she gets excited, and that’s all the time, she tends to nip/bite so the kids steer well clear. We’re working on it but a puppy that size is quite a thing.
We have another dog who is all of 5kgs soaking wet and she thinks he’s her chew toy. He’s a streetwise little fuck though so he holds his own. Interestingly the kids wanted nothing to do with little Charlie until the new pup showed up but now he’s their best buddy.
Watching the gate on a futon in the kids old play room. He knows someone is going away with me packing for the weekend…
Most def mans best friend
Our girl Meadow’s grown into a (small) big girl now. No longer a puppy, she enjoys a life of burgers, kayaking and snoozing.
It’s a dog’s life!
What a good boy
What a photo!
