Only been up a few hours and nearly hit the target. I hope it doubles, even more. Incredible outpouring of love and support for Ashley. We’ve all had so many good times hosted by Ash. A true diamond. 
Ashley is a personal hero of mine. His Grass Roots compilation genuinely changed my musical life. He is insanely musical knowledgable - at the time when everyone was chasing that bonkers Keith Allen gay reggae record, he identified it instantly when no-one else I asked could.
We just did a little list of some of our favourite musical productions he has been involved with, and the volume is pretty head-spinning when you go into it on Discogs. The word legend gets bandied around a lot, but he really is one. Help out if you can!
He really is a genuine legend. One of the UK’s finest musical contributors of all time. Here’s hoping that taget gets absolutely smashed!

Great to see the target passed so quickly, and hopefully it’ll end up way more than was asked for. Agree with comments above, AB has been one of the key people in the music scene we all love for 30 plus years and deserves every bit of love and support. A true legend.
Today has made me think that there seems hardly a month goes by without someone asking for some extra help on social media - which really reveals the terrible state of adult social care and the limits as to what the nhs can provide, as well as people’s understandable lack of confidence in the quality of the “safety net”. All a bit sobering really.

And Carl Cox is officially a genuinely lovely guy it seems.
It’s the huge number of £10,20,£50 donations from us normal bods which are most brilliant though. Goes to show the power of a crowd and how many people have been touched by the music.
It’s a pretty sobering thought that someone like Ashley, talented, respected, productive, can have a 30+ years, successful career in music and still end up in a situation like this.
