In the story of the creation of ‘Blue Monday’ in Dylan Jones’s latest book( Shiny and New: Ten Moments of Pop Genius that Defined the '80s) , New Order state this was a massive influence on the track , they mimicked the drum pattern from what I can remember on their new Drum Machine that they couldn’t quite get to work properly.
