Cometa - High End Rotary DJ Mixers

I had a trip today to the studio and office of Cometa who make a high end two channel rotary mixer. It’s a beautiful project from top to bottom… I’ll try and do a piece on Test Pressing down the line as they’re nearby…

Are they using Sanwa buttons as some type of toggle?

What does the digital readout tell you, my analogue monkey brain is confused.

It looks cool, it probably sounds amazing, but at 10 thousand dollars I fear it is a little bit ridiculously niche. Clubs can afford 10 grand for a mixer but with only 2 channels, not that much in terms of functionality/versatility, this is too limited for true club use. Most working DJ’s probably won’t have the money to shell out on that - and even if they do would they have the accompanying soundsystem at home to truly enjoy it? This seems like peak Rotary fetish to me. More power to anyone who can afford it - I’d rather get some records…

It’s not a digital readout, it’s a dimmable LED VU meter for master and cue. That bit is actually my favorite thing about it - it’s a nice development.

Not that I’m biased but in real life they are kind of beautiful.
