Hi guys
Looking for some help
Found a test pressing that belonged to my wife’s uncle
Is the best way to identify it simply by playing it?
Sorry if this is obvious (total noob!)
It may be something to do with tv/films as my wife’s uncle was a production manager/producer who worked on many programmes/ films etc
Is there anything stamped or etched into the dead wax (runout groove)? If so, try putting that into the search box on Discogs. Failing that, could use Shazam to identify the music, then search Discogs with that info.
Whilst it doesn’t have that record listed, the catalogue numbers for G101 and G103 are there. Suggesting you have a record that has yet to be uploaded.
Maybe take a picture and upload it to Discogs for others ?
Indeed! I will have to see what he was working on through the time Sound Marketing was operating. He worked on many shows and films including Thunderbirds, The Long Good Friday and Hitchcocks film Frenzy. I will get out of the sleeve later and have a closer look.
So checked the run off both sides and unfortunately nothing so I am going to have to find somewhere to play it as I don’t have a turntable ( don’t shoot me!)
Any suggestions on anywhere or anyone in the South Northamptonshire/Bedfordshire area that could help?
