Best Chillout of All Time

And this from the same EP:

I played that Destroyer record on Unity FM back in the day and had a proper moment to it. Paul Hughes and myself had a show on Thursday nights and we had one rule never play the same tune twice but this broke that rule and was on heavy rotation for a while. Proper tune. Thanks for a much needed reminder.

I bought the album on CD after hearing Bay of Pigs.
It’s a solid album, but having missed The Laziest River, was surprised when I did hear it and didn’t click who it was until the vocal came in.
Cheers x

I’m pretty sure it’s because of The KLF’s Chill Out album, that the pedal steel guitar has become inextricably linked to tranquility and calmness in my mind, and, imho, there are few better players of this magical instrument than Joe Harvey-Whyte.

One of my fave gigs of last year and I’m so pleased it’s now available to buy/stream. Recorded live at Paper Dress Vintage, along with tracks from Bobby Lee and Jeffrey Silverstein

This is 25 minute of bliss.

The Raymond Richards album (Lost Art…) being a case in point.

I love that album.

Absolutely! Another massive fave.

Have you heard his new one yet?

No, not yet. I’ll check it out!

Haven’t really given it a proper listen yet, but it will need to go some to equal his first.

I had a listen last night, really good!

It’s a bit different to the first one, more on a Calexico/Badalamenti vibe.

Actually, it sounds like an album Mark Lanegan would have sang on, a la his Isobel Campbell collabs.
