lol so it turns out @ScottProper and @Kippokid are both here this weekend😅
Thanks to all for the kind recommendations ref Berlin (Kava in particular).
Must say it’s a wonderful, beautiful and friendly city - people were just too damn nice(UK take note). Got tee-shirt weather too, which was a bonus.
Went to Katz Orange and House of Small Wonders for food, both were most excellent. Also, big shout outs to Sammys donuts (carrot cake variant, is…) and Banh Mi Stable in Mitte.
Toured all the shops (Universal Works, Kind of Guise, Arket etc) - did all the tourist spots and then headed to the flea markets on Sunday, dug for records and drank Pilsner.
Didn’t get around all of the things we wanted to do but wouldn’t hesitate to go back, would recommended others and to do the same x
Youngest and her crew landed in Berlin last night and straight to Tresor until 6.30am. Raving about a DJ called Kristian Sebast.
Few friends are over for a 50th , they got a great apartment walking distance to the clubs they planned going to…
Wow, Sauna in the living room. Didn’t know this existed haha
Lol from the video I saw the sauna wasn’t needed as there was Steam coming off these guys when the were sitting outside on the balcony ![]()
They did give it a good lash, I woke Tuesday morning for work to this msg and few hours later I asked about the sauna…
A mate of mine is going to Berlin next weekend. Any cool music happening (live or club) tips would be appreciated. Thanks!
Looks like I’ll be heading out at the end of June. What venues am I likely to find Test Pressing-esque music? It can’t all be relentless techno!
This place is decent, hard to find but worth it when you do:
Going with the wife and kids (4 and 6) for ten days at the end of August. We had an amazing time in Paris last summer so trying to replicate that.
Obviously the four of us will be going to Berghain on Sunday (I’ve already got the kids all black clobber) but any non-clubbing recommendations appreciated! I’m a sauna enthusiast so will be looking to do a few of those (without the kids - and without any sort of clothing from what I understand)
We just did ten days there and had a great time
Made what was a bit of a pilgrimage to Firmament having bought quite a lot of clobber from there in years gone by but the physical store was pretty small so came away empty handed.
Did a bit of record shopping, went to OYE which seemed to be all new stuff but sure most on here would find something of interest. Also went to Dodo beach which was more new pop stuff, second hand stuff pretty limited
Was with young kids and loads for them to do, a good playground every few blocks which broke up the walking, loads of great interactive museums etc.
Heading to Berlin on sat, taking my wife to the Parcels / zenmen gig. We have a good deal on a hotel on the west side, Wilmina Hotel. I’ve never stayed on this side of town so any recs for food, bar around here would be good.
We have a late flight sunday so anything worth doing on sunday afternoon let me know (doesnt have to be west), I’m thinking flea market.
Cheers
this restuarant is really good, Knödelwirtschaft (they serve big heavy dumplings with goulash and pickles)

unfortunately it’s nowhere near where you’re staying… sorry about that. but you could add a few things together over that way, like Treptow park and the soviet memorial, and sound metaphors record shop, which is a pretty good spot too!
