I can’t claim any part of the creation of this music, but I am involved in getting this 12" out in the next few months, so I want to share it here, and hope you love it too. (Let me know if you would like physical copies and I will make sure to let you know more when it’s all done.):
The romantic in me is funding this in honour of a time when oddball 12"s came out and people bought them. This is an oddball 12 and deserves to live and be heard.
I first loved “Theme” and used that on mixes last year. But I am loving “Dub” more at the moment - it truly is the kind of odd/not/odd record that I used to buy when records were cheap(er) to press and buy. That B-side that doesn’t get played often but it is a bit of a secret weapon.
Full credit to Julian and Alex who wrote and produced the music in Mallorca!
Just a bit of promo for my mates, as none of them are on here. After years of hearing what they were working on, there has finally been an offical release.
Deeply Armed’s first single “The Healing” is now available from their website, Bandcamp and soon in some records stores. Remixes on this single come from Keith Tenniswood and Andrew Innes & Brendan Lynch.
Further singles and an album to follow. With remixes coming from David Holmes, Richard Fearless and The Mad Professor.
As the author David Keenan describes them, “Think Neu! tripping on a Northern Soul loop with Sonic Boom setting the controls for the heart of the sun.”
During the lockdowns of 2020-2021, we as Scorpio Twins (assisted by Italo artist Guy Tallo) streamed live performances of extended live versions/jams from three of our remixes for Rheinzand.
I’ve found these recently on an old drive and have uploaded them to YouTube for anyone interested to watch, as you can see here:
In the meantime, we are busy producing Belgian legacy artist Mauro Pawlowski with his latest work, first single to be released next Thursday April 3rd, full album in the making, stay tuned here for more.
Enjoy (if you like to see three older men fiddling with their knobs and instruments)
This EP on mine was originally released on Is It Balearic? in the summer of 2024. That was however a vinyl only release, but it’s now available digitally (solely) on my Bandcamp.
I’m gonna quote the Piccadilly Records blurb from when it was released, as I particularly enjoyed that one…
“Treading a path between dubbed out spacey balearic and unhurried drug chug, Marius Circus’ lush sounds should find many a fan in the shop. Avoid now, regret later.”
So, as mentioned above Scorpio Twins are producing the new album by Belgian maverick Mauro Pawlowski called “Unspectacular Times”.
Before this gets released (on vinyl too), we will release a few singles digitally in advance.
First one, “Just All Heart, Flesh and Mind” got out yesterday. Not exactly a production as extended dance mixes are, but more proper pop orientated stuff with hints of synth funk and groove based music. It features Daryl Hall’s current drummer Brian Dunne, bass duties are in the hands of yours truly
You can check it out here, feel free to DM me if you would like a file!
First time posting! Just had a wicked weekend at Watching Trees. Had a day off to recover so dusted off a loop from my mpc and made a tune out of it in the spirit of the weekend.
Second single by Mauro Pawlowski, produced by Scorpio Twins is out today. Not really Balearic or DJ stuff, more like an eighties-synthpop-newwave-with-a-little-kraut-track.
