I’m currently trying to write my second album. It’s been a bit of a start stop frustrating process as inspiration and creativity has evaded me for long periods, seems difficult second album syndrome is actually a thing! Anyway I’ve got 4 tracks almost finished that I’m fairly happy with, here they are if you want to check them out. Any comments good or bad welcome

New to posting on the forum, starting to explore some threads and thought this was a good place to start for introductions. I think I know a few people here already.
I run I Travel to You, a label out of Norwich, this is the third vinyl release. They’re not both strictly edits - maybe A side is a cover, or version etc, unsure what to call them at the moment. More on the way.

My first ever track, which was only supposed to have been a 30s clip to use as BGM for a friend’s dumpling delivery restaurant during the pandemic, but ended up growing into a full sized track just because I had the extra time.
Niko Niko is a japanese expression used when you want to give a sort of smiling approval to something. As in when you eat a really nice Gyoza. Or listen to a song you enjoyed a lot.
Not much processing done to the track (I don’t know how to, really) but it sounds good as is for now. I want to make some extra mixes of it later on, then might get someone to help me with mixing/mastering but for now the DL is available on soundcloud as is.

Cool track Marco. The bassline bounces along nicely and sits well in the drums. The chords / keys give it a nice atmosphere, and the bleeping melody line has a Japanese vibe in an 8-bit kind of way. The mix sounds clean enough to me.

Love the bassline! I find a little saturation/soft clipping works wonders on individual channels to give a more analogue-like bite, especially for 707/808 samples.

Latest release on my micro-label Mono Disco, produced by me in the old-school sense of nurturing the artists, guiding the project, making it all happen, bit of arranging, curation, etc. Rather than actually making the music itself! But hopefully still fits here. Hip hop to trip hop to dub…
