After years of getting by with a Xone 23, I’m looking to upgrade to a four channel mixer and want to do better than Pioneer or A&H. While my top option would be a MasterSound Valve 4 Linear, the Elara 4 seems like close second. No one in my circle has tried one yet but the reviews online are universally positive. Would love to hear about someone’s hands-on experience.
It will be very similar to the mastersounds and to the higher end A&H stuff. The guy behind Audio Union is the same guy who designed the Mastersounds mixers, and the Allen & Heath Xone series.
Personally I think the price is insane for that mixer. I’d be happy with an Ecler Warm 4 channel or a Formula Sound 4 channel if you like faders…
Why is it so expensive? It looks like a basic, bare-bones mixer to me (which I like), but I’m struggling to understand the pricepoint?
@mrmax -saw you have one from the set-up thread. How are you finding it?
I’m guessing build quality is pretty great. Adding the overall ISO probably adds some to the cost. In the end, I would pay to have less stuff going on with my mixer while Pioneer and A&H keep adding more. I also dislike 4 band EQs.

I’m really happy with mine. I looked and demo’d the Ecler Warm 4 mixer and thought the Elara sounded way better, cleaner and punchier.
I have had quite a few mixers over the years - rotary and faders - don’t find a massive difference in mixing - I was really just prioritising sound and build.
Not sure on the points made on the cost - from memory the 4 channel Mastersounds cost slightly more when it was available (without the power supply) It has all the same functions.
I looked at the two and four channel Alphas but felt repairs might be an issue - given its Japan and I really liked the hpf filter on the Elara which the Alphas didn’t have.
I also got 10% off mine - which pushes its price really close to the Warm4.
They stock them in Westend DJ - so if you are in London you can always get a demo.
If you happen to be in North London - you can come and see / have a go on mine.
