Talking of Vestax I used to play a club that had one of these rare Stanton collaborations.
Very little control without even a gain but incredible sound, right up with some of the best

i’ve played on those too, those transformer buttons were the worst. you will absolutely knuckle those at the least opportune times. i think it was this mixer that put me off of employing crossfaders in any situation other than scratching/cutting.

I just haven’t had the inclination to DJ since then. Never had a controller, just decks, CDJs and the mixer.

It does look very similar - modular with the removable channels, perhaps its a more recent model. Amazingly they are still going.

Think my first mixer was a Realistic from a Tandy that was in the Manchester Arndale in the mid 90s.

Still got my old Panasonic AVE-5 (must have spent a good dozen years or so gigging with that from the mid-90s… happy days!)
First decks and mixer were Realistic / Tandy (the belt drive decks with limited range pitch control made for a fun learning curve to beatmatch, but the eventual transition to technics was a breeze!)

Still kicking myself for getting rid of my Ecler SMAC 30 a couple of years ago instead of trying to get it repaired 
- it was a proper workhorse, and I really miss it…
Started off with a KAM Made2Fade like pretty much everyone I know (lowest price in the back of DJ Mag pretty much everywhere iirc) then upgraded to one of these with my student loan in first year

Started off with a Technics 2 channel mixer, cant remember the name but I think it was the one used at DMC competitions. Sold that and got a Allen & Heath 2 channel which i still have, sounds lovely. Then got an E&S DJR400 around 10 years ago. Love it but thinking of selling it to fund new speakers and going back to the Allen & Heath. I kinda miss faders and being able to cut quickly and actually think the A&H sounds just as good as the DJR400.
Still got my Gemini - loved that mixer for having so many simple useful features and a good size fader
Upgraded to the the pioneer djm350 which has the USB record function built in and the effects buttons
still going strong and have no reason to get daft and upgrade

Realistic from Tandy, then a Vestax, then an upgrade to a Pioneer DJM ( which wasn’t an upgrade at all because it was utter shit and the Vestax was massively better sounding), then a cheap Behringer (£150) because I was broke which was hugely better sounding than the Pioneer and finally an Allen & Heath xone which will see me through to the grave, unless I win the lottery and then I quite fancy a MasterSounds.
