One for the Discord people… I’ve copied most of the main threads over… This can be a live experiment and I’m figuring it out as I go but hopefully something to follow if you use that… This invite lasts 7 days…

Honestly me neither but I have a feeling they are different audiences. As you can see with most of this stuff I’m transparent about it and just thought it might be interesting to see if different people / audiences would engage and appear…

More of a chat room vibe if a few people are online at the same time. Can be pretty good.
It has a big Gamer user base, you can have a live chat channel for your teammates so you don’t need to rely on the built in game chat.

I confess I’m a bit confused. From my rudimentary understanding of Discord, it looks like this is, in effect, a duplicate forum. With the same threads as here. Unless we post the same content to both, we’ll end up with two separate forums. Which is fine if that is the intention. Could be a smart way to grow. But that growth is going to come - most likely - from a different pool of people. As you hinted @apiento, there are already lots of people comfortable with that as a place to hang out.
The caveat to all this is that I’m absolutely clueless. All I know is that my son laughed when he discovered I was one another - similar - text based chat board on Discord. He uses it for live audio chat when gaming online with friends. I think. I want to end this with an enormous shrug emoji.

discord is great for real time chat (rinse, refuge, worldwide and more use discord for live chat),
also group voice chat (popular with gaming)
there are some cool servers, the 1000limosine one is cool, also the “your own productions” section of the Arca server is on some next youth ting
