A Picture is Worth a Thousand & one Words

It is indeed The Haunted Cop Shop. I watch A LOT of Hong Kong horrors and comedies from the 70’s and 80’s and so many have great disco scenes, the odd (very corny) disco song in the soundtrack and many references to going out to the disco. Makes me smile every time.

It’s under £45 on Amazon! That’s a 33% hike. I mean even £45 seems extravagant. Their pricing team must have access to a computer. And access to common sense?

Ridiculous, can’t believe there are people out there willing to pay that.

Weirdly I was in there the other day for the first time in years. They had lots of buy 3 get £xx off deals which still made really average records ridiculously expensive.

Seventeen year old Jack Atsidakos was driving home to Belmore last night after finishing work at his father’s Lindcrest diner in Lindenhurst.

According to Nassau homicide sergeant John Nolan, witnesses saw Atsidakos drag racing with another car along Merrick Road in Montauk.

Nolan says the young man lost control and slid into a row of stores.

His body was pulled from the car by a passing motorist …

Bleep have got Chill Out listed for 27 Oct release at 45 quid. Crazy money.

Must be another bootleg too assuming it’s impossible now to clear all the samples on the OG.

If it’s still the clear vinyl it’s worth having - it’s a good pressing. Word has it that it’s an official unofficial but who knows.

Clear vinyl really is the worst choice for pressing a record. I swerve releases if they’re only on clear even if it’s something I’d really like.

I have to admit I tend to avoid coloured / clear vinyl pressings myself, but have recently learned that vinyl is clear / milky white anyway. The black gets added when the puck is formed.

I have a red pressing of the Arthur Verocai album and it’s damn near perfect.

If it’s 2023, it’s unofficial.

Edit: According to Discogs, most releases of Chill Out on vinyl post 99 are unofficial.

I’d go clear over any opaque colour other than black, personally. Second hand clear vinyl can be a bit painful though as it’s hard to spot any marks.

Interesting and yeah it is the 2023 version. I knew it wasn’t being pressed in any official capacity due to the uncleared samples. Does that make it a bootleg by nature and all but the first should be ‘unofficial’?

Yeah it’s a booty. What does it sound like? Reviews seem to suggest it has a fair bit of snap, crackle and pop.

I’m not sure the clear vinyl thing is so cut and dried apart from visually being tricky to determine.
I’ve got a clear version of Herb Alpert’s Rotation in nasty old PVC sleeve which sounds great🤷‍♂️

I’ve played a couple of copies and both were crisp and dynamic but I suppose there could be different batches. Sleeve seemed good too. All aspects compared well to the original in my book. £50.00 for a snide LP is rough though!

Wow - had a look at Discogs and even the out-of-print CD starts at $30 USD. $50 is annoying but could be worse…especially if it sounds decent. What is the difference between the 2023 and the OG? It’s not “Come Down Dawn” is it?
