Something there needs to be a real debate about. Wealth redistribution needs to be at the top

It has to happen in this country eventually, the furlough scheme during the pandemic was a fore runner and showed that it can work.
We desperately need to look at wealth redistribution in the UK, UBI and looking at taxing assets and other incomes outside of wages would be a big start. If we do nothing, to be quite honest, I fear where we are heading as a society.
Disappointed that Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves appear to be saying little about it

Starmer and Reeves won’t make any real material change if they get in.

My fear is that after 13 years of the Tories running the basic services and infrastructure of the country into the floor (and with them now seemingly knowing the next GE is lost and enbarking on a “scorched earth” policy), that an incoming Labour government, whether on its own or as part of a coalition, would simply get overwhelmed.
As part of my wife’s work, she regularly meets up with MP’s and think tank types, and that is their worry. A comparison they have offered up is Harold Wilson winning in 1974, inheriting the economic mess and industrial disputes left behind by Heath’s Tories, and then descending further into the so called “winter of discontent”. We all know what came next…
Make no mistake though, i just want the Tories gone.

If Labour had any sense at all (which they don’t) they’d bring in PR ASAP

This will shock any Primal Scream fans on here. Way to treat your mate…

That is heartbreaking.

Will be interesting to hear what the response is from Gillespie and Innes because this absolutely trashes their socialist/right on credentials. If true, then it seems they’re a right bunch of see you next Tuesdays.

Very sad reading that, you could feel his son’s pain.
As much as I love Screamadelica and other PS records, I’ve had my doubts about Primrose Hill Bob being the socialist revolutionary he likes to portray for awhile.

God, that’s awful. Poor kid. What a way to treat a fellow band member.

Primal Scream were an average band, made great by Weatherall & Nicolson on Screamadelica. Nothing else they did ever came close, imho.

Martin from ACR has said on Twitter they did a similar thing to Denise Johnson.

I think “Primrose Hill Bob” sums it up. Total fake.

Just been scrolling social media this morning and what they did to Denise is well known but it was news to me.

I really miss Denise. I followed her on Twitter and met and chatted to her a couple of times, totally lovely and unassuming about her talent.
