Yes - Sydney has certainly become all style (cough debatable) no substance. Hence why I’ve pretty much packed in the DJing for good now. Every new space that opens up starts out wanting the underground but quickly pivots to requesting the “vibe” be “funky and fun”.
At least the newly reopened Chinese Laundry seems to be doing things proper - they announced a “no phones” policy this week, which is more than ok in my books!

Was the Theo set well received in Sydney? It’s what the crowd wanted/expected? Was it a great night?
I went to his larger theater show which was very well recieved. This was the following night at a small club. People were losing their minds from all accounts but I do think it may have been based on the fact that it was a last minute “secret” gig and a cool place to say “I got in” etc
