What are you YouTubeing right now?

So evocative isn’t it? I can almost taste the Dewberry oil and dry ice

Hardcore Uproar reminds me of the excellent High on Hope documentary which unfortunately still hasnt been released. Think they need 25k to clear the music. I was fortunate enough to see a screening at Leeds film festival some years ago. Its an excellent tale of those involved in putting on the Blackburn Warehouse parties between 88-90. Good trailer here:

Aaaah the Blackburn raves, the stuff of legends.

1-2am finish at the dome / hac on a Sunday morning then a convoy of cars to the warehouses up the m66 motorway.

One night two heads from Mcr had a bit of a run in. Both knew each other from the match, one a business man the other a (now deceased) gangster from Salford.

The Businesses man, has put on the rave, sat back buzzing, counting the cash. Next thing the gangster has turned up with 30 or so of his ‘firm’, they’ve taken the door, sale of the drugs and made head way to where the money was.

Gangster tells the businessman to hand over the takings, which he does. The gangster says ‘I like you John you are a mate, but business is business…see you next week at xxxx away…’

Unfortunately, after that, they got a taste and It all started to go wrong & get nasty for Mcr nightlife after that night…

Blimey! Bit of a different vibe to our fluffy Devon raves in the woods!

I can assure you there was definitely a darker vibe to some of the Spiral Tribe parties around here back in the day…

Yeh hearing some of the music they played - no doubt :joy:

There was all sorts going on back then. I was there in the summer of 89, sat in the ‘chill out’ area / foyer at the front of the thunder dome, when we heard loud bangs.

We thought shit, that wasn’t the music. It really wasn’t. It was the sound of three of the doormen getting shot in the legs. Not the greatest thing to have to witness, and the carnage afterwards, on a windowpane and cheap speed.

After that all hell let loose in the city, and you really couldn’t go anywhere to that type of club without something happening.

Shit times really. Grim.

It got better as the cops got rid of the gangs, but a lot of clubs were forced to shut along the way.

Best I’ve ever heard them. Liam drinking water, Noel seems to be fully in the room. If only they’d stayed disciplined and true to themselves and not got caught up in the media and drugs. They could have stayed this good. Sad really.
