I really didn’t go for Sade, back then, mainly I think because of the over exposure(she was on radio non stop). I came to her only about 10 years ago. However, it’s been a magical experience getting acquainted with her work. Clips like this convey some of the other worldly quality they had. Her live version of “why can’t we live together” is amazing.
Yeah I didn’t really get into them until about 20 years ago. The stuff you would hear on the radio at the time or on TOTP was played to death and wasn’t necessarily the best stuff they had released. She is particularly mesmerising on clips like this. It’s her gentle voice, movements and incredibly cool little shuffle that does it for me.
