Sasha Grey. Beautiful but the saddest brown eyes you’ve ever seen
the deep house ingredients thread
Lol. Literally had the same thought.
co-sign on this - it’s really fantastic - highly recommended. Watched it on a whim and was so moved.
These videos could be considered “poverty porn” but they are more than that. Stark, raw, and harrowing but ultimately illuminating studies of the human condition.
The full documentary is floating around somewhere. We often hear about Delia Derbyshire & Silver Apples etc. when it comes to electronic music pioneers, but Ray almost never get’s a mention, which is a shame, his electronic music dated from the late 50’s and is often very repetitive and hypnotic, much akin to later ambient/dance music structures and textures.
Tunes like the 1964 Enoesque Little Miss Echo
And '59’s Cindy Electronium
Love this track and video
Video reminds me of this

Been long year of ‘no surf’ lockdown, hyping myself up for tomorrow, hopefully some nice waves here over the weekend.
Absolute genius - and the guy on bass isn’t too bad either:
Perhaps the best use of the internet:
More musical synergy:
oh - almost forgot about this. I follow this channel wherein a bunch of Dublin-based standup comics & actor types try things on camera and all of the folks are generally pretty likable and fun to watch:
one of them (the guy in the thumbnail) wears dance music-related T-shirts regularly on the videos (Dirtybird, a bunch of drum’n’bass ones) and so I figured after like three years of watching him try things (his name is Donal) I’d see if he’s doing anything with house music or DJ’ing. Turns out he does, his DJ name is SHARPSON and his shtick is that he DJ’s upside down:
LOL SMH WTF CMON NOW
My hood
Still have my 12’’… took me a few years to realise it was with Kid Creole.
