What are you YouTubeing right now?

Around 2000 I discovered “Superpinkymandy” on Napster. I love the production & Beth’s voice, very much of its time and with a sparkly kind of naïveté that I find utterly charming. The files lived on various harddrives for a while before I lost em. this is sort of a forgotten one and is apparently quite rare now.

Watched some movies from Nanni Moretti - let’s say we made a Nanni’s fest at home these days, and now every day vespa’s scenes from Caro Diario are hunting me.

Great soundtrack btw.

I’ve read this a couple of times over the last few years and it’s such a good piece that really makes you feel like you knew his life. Seemed like a pretty good guy. Heartbreaking end.

Yeah it is, the ending is heartbreaking, makes you realise how devastating AIDS was at that time, 3 actors on that soap opera alone dying of it.

There’s a lot of other great pieces (fnar fnar!) and profiles on that site, the 2 writers know their stuff and obviously have a real love of that era.

Great journalism as well, they really dig into a story, sometimes investigating it for years before putting it online (or not) and despite the subject matter they’re never exploitative or judgemental, at times compassionate and humane. Some of, if not, my favourite writing online.

Never watched Alton Brown’s cooking videos till today. I know about him but never caught it on TV, few months ago I have watched his guest appereance in Last Meals and must say I loved it.

Now I’m youtubeing his last series Alton Brown Cooks (and eats), started with knives episode, now soup and rib eye. Nice charisma, funny, and there’s a lot of good advices and infos. And it’s good he’s not a purist, and how to say…he’s not giving you recipes, he gives you inspiration, opinion and methods.

Do we have Cooking topic here?
