Saw RL play live from the front row table in a jazz club - it was a religious experience. So good, I went back the next night!

On September 29, 1998, Harlem became the center of the hip hop universe.
More than 175 artists — from Rakim and Slick Rick to Missy Elliott, Wu-Tang Clan, and De La Soul — gathered on 126th Street for A Great Day in Hip Hop, captured by the legendary Gordon Parks for XXL Magazine.

This is a real time capsule, kinda like an NY The Hitman & Her lol, some great music (without wanting to sound like a dinosaur, check out the new releases and tell me pop music hasn’t regressed) & some terrible 80s dancing.

Not to piss on any parades, but I’ve watched a few videos in this series and it became obvious to me that the interviews are pre planned with the musical choices worked out with each subject in advance. Nothing is genuine any more.
