Some interesting documentary on this channel
Fantastic documentary and article. Thanks for sharing.
Watching it led me to another lovely time capsule by the same director, Paul Oremland, on the evolution of disco and dance music, with cameos from the likes of Deee-Lite, Baby Ford, Frankie Knuckles, Mark Moore, Judy Weinstein, Ian Levine…and Sinitta…among many others.
As powerful as ever.
Looking and sounding so good. One of my favourite MC’s
Really remember tapeing this when it came out & watching repeatdely
Probably on same tape as a SFAChilling
Well its not Youtube but
Simiair vein
Apparently a young Alfos resident is in the crowd
Still not sure about the Communards but I bet it worked ( sounds brilliant in clip)
VERY messy morning scenes from Welcome 92 held at a warehouse in Sydney suburb of Mascot. It was a fucking excellent party with Orbital headlining supported by a crew of Sydney DJs. These clips prove that the pills were definitely on point in the early 90’s.
This mix is proper. 45’s only. Seamless from Stretch Armstrong.
Love to see him change his mind on the very first transition!
The opposite of a modern pre planned mix.
Just by the fact his done several thousand mix tapes over the year he could have a pre planned mix with his eyes closed of first record > second record.
I do exactly this when playing live. First few records, total indecision! This warms my heart.
The Black Dog have a new 24 hour dark ambient channel.
"Welcome to Sleep Deprivation, a sonic refuge for the sleep-deprived and the restless. Our channel delivers deep, hypnotic dystopian drone music—a fusion of dark ambient soundscapes, industrial undertones, and eerie atmospheric drones designed to lull you into a trance-like state.
Whether you’re battling insomnia, overactive thoughts, or the creeping silence of late-night solitude, our immersive soundscapes will envelop you in a world of slow-burning tension and melancholic serenity. Let the distant hum of decaying cities, ghostly transmissions, and mechanical lullabies guide you into the unknown."
Some amazing insight into the dark minds of early-mid 90s reps via them talking about their choice of company cars, and how they use the road with them.
Feels like it must have in some way inspired this Comic Strip short.
Hilarious and depressing in equal measure. Definitely some potential serial killers in there. Especially Jeffery Dahmer…
A mention of Enjoy The Silence on another thread reminded me of this
