Late to the party but very much enjoying ‘Banjo & Ro’s Grand Island Hotel’
Seem like absolutely lovely fellas.

Incredibly late but got round to The Alienist finally- so far pretty good
& Ro is giving me man bun envy
Loving this too after the recommendation here, prob something that would’ve passed me by otherwise
I quite enjoyed the first season of Yellowstone but felt no compunction to watch any more for the reasons you stated. Did unsettle me a bit seems to be a sort of red neck maga utopian fantasy. Bit like reading Ayn Rand… you know its wrong but it’s bloody entertaining although unsettling in its core message
A bit MAGA and a bit soap opera. I think I’m gonna pass on Yellowstone.
Have we had this? I usually pass on Netflix films but really enjoyed this wierd and life-affirming Steven King adaptation with Chiwetel Ejiofor and Tom Hiddleston and Luke Skywalker and dancing
An original idea on Netflix? What’s happening?
Its not a Netflix original per se, think its one they have got the streaming rights for.
Saw it at the cinema. I read the Stephen King short a few years ago. Its certainly unconventional, it confused the hell out of the missus. Enjoyed it though, one you think about for a while after
Picked up a copy of Shut Up And Play The Hits, a document of LCD Soundsystem’s last ever show (
) on DVD earlier from a chazza, just watched it.
The concert footage was great but could have done with less of the navel gazing scenes of James Murphy wandering around New York whilst wistfully staring into the middle distance like a man contemplating the imminent end of the universe rather than his band (temporarily) splitting up.
In retrospect a little self indulgent yes
Similarly thought the concert scenes were really powerful
Were those the shows where everyone got Covid? I just remember some very scathing articles at the time.
No, DVD is from 2011
2000 Meters to Andriivka. Fucking hell. Bleak but important.
The Running Man.
Absolute tosh. Avoid
Just finished ‘Waiting For The Out’. Loved it. Definitely some Mike Leigh styling in there.
Josh Finan was superb as Dan.
Thanks for the recommendation.
Same. Watched after recommendation on here and loved it. Josh Finan is a legend in the making.
I’m watching Shrinking at the moment. I like the blend of wholesome and drama/dark comedy - reminds me of Ted Lasso in the way they address mental health topics.
Hollywood surely beckons for this lad.
Ditto on that. Found that show very moving and better than any drama I’ve seen on the BBC in a good while. Thanks
